Abhyanga

What is Abhyanga oil massage?

Abhyanga is a traditional full-body massage with warm herbal oil, offered for relaxation and general wellbeing.

What the term means

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic oil massage. The related word snehana is often explained as 'to nurture with love', because sneha in Sanskrit means both oil and affection.

What happens in a session

Warm herbal oils are massaged over the body. Traditional practice gives particular attention to the forehead, temples, ears, palms and soles, which are described in the tradition as marma points.

Session length, oils used and the areas massaged are confirmed when you book.
